ASB Report August & September 2020
September 29, 2020
Junior Class President
Position assessment
As Junior Class President during the months of August and September I have been working on our class t-shirt sales, fall fest ideas, being involved with Link Crew, and fundraising ideas. The other junior officers and I started designing our class t-shirts in July and we received our shirts in early August. We promoted our shirts all over social media because this was the most accessible way for people to see our shirts and order their shirt. We handed out the shirts during a drive through in September and almost everyone picked up their ordered shirt. We didn’t sell as many as we would have liked, but it’s understandable since selling was different this year. Our class theme for Fall Fest is Harvest/Country. We are so excited that this is our theme because all of the juniors in leadership have been texting about ideas and how badly we want to win Fall Fest. I’ve been to several Link Crew meetings and been a part of the Link Crew tour of the school video for the freshmen. I’ve also been working on a Halloween fundraiser with Kate and Morty. Morty has ordered everything for this fundraiser and I’ll be helping to promote it and assemble the items.
Professional Development
So far in the professional development category I have been working on speaking up more in all of my classes but especially Leadership because now I’m one of the upperclassmen and I feel that I need to set an example for the younger kids. Contributing to the discussions has helped me feel more comfortable talking in every class so I’m excited that I’ve learned how to be more confident with my ideas and input. We just chose our jobs that we’ll be pursuing this year for mock interviews I chose the job of Urban Planner because this is what I’ve been looking into majoring in in college. Now that I’m a junior it’s really time that I start deciding what I want to do in the future and researching about Urban Planning makes me excited to possibly pursue this career path.
Concerns/Change
The only thing that I would change at this point is to get to know everyone better, and I know that this is much more difficult this year. But maybe if we do activities where people share slides about themselves or just anything to get to know each other. I feel bad because I don’t really know any of the freshmen so I think it would be good if they especially got to share about themselves. This would probably make them more comfortable too.
Positive Comment
My positive comment is for Niki Nguyen. Obviously the start of this school year has been much different and I think that Niki has done a really good job about informing the class and leading the class some days. She has also taken on a lot of responsibility with working with the freshmen representatives and working with Morty. I’m just appreciative that she is working hard for not only our class, but for the whole school.
My Impact
My impact on the campus this year thus far has been about being a helpful and forgiving person. There was a lot of people that needed help purchasing their shirts and I was glad that they felt comfortable enough to reach out to me, because there were people who contacted me that I haven’t really talked to before so I’m glad that they know I’m here to help. I’ve had to be a forgiving person this year due to things that have happened within my class, that I shouldn’t necessarily forgiven people for but I didn’t like the feeling of being alienated or awkward with people who have done things to me in the past. So I think my forgiveness has been an example to my class that we can move past things because nothing is ever guaranteed.

ASB Report October & November 2020
December 1, 2020
Junior Class President
Position assessment
As Junior Class President during the months of October and November I was in charge of Fall Fest for the Junior class at the end of October. The other officers and junior commissioners were very helpful throughout Fall Fest. We all went to Emma’s house to decorate our front door with harvest items that we already had. We also purchased a few items from Hobby Lobby to use. I also worked on the Halloween Goodie Bags with Kate where we aimed to sell 50 bags. We ended up selling 33 bags, but we understand that fundraising is hard right now. In November I worked on our Dude Be Nice reveal with Avery, Anthony, Niki, Mackenzie, and Kylee. Avery, Anthony, and I created a chair for our Dude to sit on when he was announced. I blew up balloons with the balloon committee for people to hand out. We taught Kylee how to use the helium tank and how we blow up balloons. I filmed a video and wrote a letter for Mr. Perez.
Professional Developmen
So far in the professional development category I have been working on keeping up with all my work. Recently I’ve been overwhelmed with school work just because I haven’t had the pressure of having to turn things in, in person. I’ve also committed myself to other responsibilities that take up a lot of time and I’m not able to put 100% into everything I do. So as we’re starting in person school again, I think it will be easier for me to keep everything in order and get back into a more normal routine for a while.
Concerns/Change
The only thing I am concerned about is how long school will be open regarding Covid. I’m just worried that not everyone at school will wear continue wearing their masks and they are going to risk everyone at school and even other people that they are in contact with. It’s just selfish for people to not wear a mask.
Positive Comment
My positive comment is for Kayla Pankey. Kayla has been doing a great job in leadership so far and she always wants to give her best efforts in everything she does. She has been doing a great job with our class social media and keeping our class involved. She makes our social media so pretty and our whole feed is cohesive so it makes it more pleasing to look at and easy for our class to find information.
My Impact
My impact on the campus this year thus far has been being helpful to my teachers and peers. I’ve seen several freshmen around that need help so I’ve been helping them get to where they need to be. I’ve also been helping my teachers because I know it’s hard transitioning back to this new way of school.

ASB Report February & March 2021
March 15, 2020
Junior Class President
Position assessment
As Junior Class President during the months of February and March, I have been working on my own school work trying to maintain my high grades and I have just started working on homecoming with the other juniors in the class. During February I did a military heart which was for FFA, I started on my St. Patricks Day clovers, and started talking about homecoming. February was very busy with school, leadership, dance, and Almond Blossom stuff. In March we established our homecoming theme which is “Blast to the Past” and our class theme is “concerts.” We have our whole poster and decorations planned out and are still working on our dance for the night rally. Kayla and I are choreographing the dance and are going to teach it to the rest of our class. At the end of March I will be making balloon arches, setting up the black curtain wall because this job was given to me when I was a freshman, and helping out with coronation since I am the trainee for both of these committees.
Professional Development
In professional development I have been looking to apply for jobs for the summer and I’m using the skills I’ve learned in leadership to do this. Since winning Almond Blossom Queen, I’ve had to talk to a lot of businesses and business people so learning how to be professional over the past few years has helped me communicate with these people. I also finished my resume and cover letter for mock interviews, and I helped Morty find my two ladies who will be interviewing me. The two ladies that I found are from an urban planning firm in Oakland so they have really been in the field and working with urban issues.
Concerns/Change
The only thing I would change would be changing seats and changing the seating chart. Of course I like the people I’m sitting with in class, but I don’t think it would be too difficult to change the seating chart once a month to move the class around. I feel that I’m comfortable enough with the people I sit with now because I’ve gotten to know them but I want to get to know more people better so it would be easier to do this while switching up the seating charts.
Positive Comment
My positive comment is for Kylee Brown. Kylee has really stepped up to lead the freshmen class, preparing for her role as sophomore class president next year. She is also so outgoing and isn’t afraid to bring up new ideas. I love talking to her because she’s just an easy going person and I can’t wait to see what she does in leadership.
My Impact
While we’ve been back at school for a few months, I feel my impact has been making sure that my class knows that I am working for them. People have asked me if we’re having dances and rallies, which of course we’re not, I don’t know why people don’t understand that we can’t do those activities anymore. But I want them to know that we are working for them and we want to do everything possible for them, while still being safe.
